Today’s post really carries on from last week’s ‘motivation and sticking with it for maximum fat loss’. Whilst that post dealt with how to motivate yourself before, during and after setting, working towards and achieving your goals, this one is to reinforce the importance of taking action.
The simple truth and reality is – if you want something – you can get it. If you want something badly enough you can undertake what is necessary to learn, plan, work for and achieve it. Losing weight, gaining muscle or any other fitness goal is the same. This is assuming what you want is realistic and achievable of course – there is not much point you aiming for a 9.5 second 100m sprint unless you are in the ultra-elite!
You must commit to action by setting out your goals in writing and making yourself accountable in some way. You may need to undertake some learning or research to find the methods you need to employ to reach your goal. You will need to put in place an action plan that will get you to where you want to be. You then you need to take that action until you realise your goal!
Nothing is easy. You didn’t put the weight on overnight so you won’t lose it overnight. But by planning ahead you are enhancing your probability of success immensely.
You must take action now, be it setting, learning, planning or doing. Don’t read this post and do nothing. Smart Way To Fat Loss is a resource for you to set and achieve your fat loss goals. Here are some resources that may help:
- Go to the fat loss guide and take 30 minutes to read through that as a starting point.
- Set your SMART goals.
- Learn about fat loss.
- Consider and plan your diet.
- Learn about training for beginners or running for beginners.
- Plan your training.
I don’t claim to have the magic solution to get you into the exact shape you want to be. I only share what I think are the key tools and techniques that will help. Even if I found the magic solution and shared it in an exact and precise way the sad reality is that most people still wouldn’t follow it. Maybe it’s laziness, maybe it’s a fear of failure… or maybe it’s even a fear of success – then they have one less thing to blame in life. You are not one of those people are you?!
I’m going to cut this post short today so you can get on with taking action – go and do something today.
Tell me what action you are going to take or have taken today?
